Fishing Reports- Lake Michigan & Pere Marquette River -Ludington Michigan

Wednesday, April, 04, 2001

The Pere Marquette River is open and we are taking a few Steelhead, though the fishing is slow. The spring run is just getting started. We are drifting from Indian Bridge down to Scottville. HotnTots in Blue and Silver, Willey’s Worm in the Glow, and Green and Silver are best colors. Spawn is working with Chartreuse, and Orange being the best colors for spawn bags. We are just starting to take some Browns trolling in PM Lake, the Basin, and the nearshore waters. From Ludington south to the Project, and north to the State Park is producing some small Browns. Trolling in 6-12 ft of water is the best. Water temp is 34-38 degree’s which is good for Browns. We can troll 3 rods per person this year on the lake so we can present more color patterns to the Brown’s. Best baits are Rapalas and Rebels in the Black and Silver, Red and Gold, and Fire Tiger. LD green glo’s are also working off the birds. Good Fishin Capt Ed
